In Loving Memory of Albert Charles Camp

14 August 1923 - 7 April 2014

Albert Charles Camp was born on 14 August 1923 in Thorley and christened on 14 October of that year at St James the Great by the Revd John Edward Ingleby Procter.

A true Friend of St James, Albert was a lifelong worshipper at the Church.

Following service in the Army during the Second World War, Albert was a local Firefighter for over 30 years.

Firefighters formed the Guard-of-Honour at his funeral that was conducted by the Revds Anthea Platt and Rob Wynford-Harris on 22 April 2014 in a packed St Barnabas Centre at St James the Great, to which Albert was carried aboard Firefly, the now vintage fire engine that he drove for many years.

A stalwart of the Church, well known and loved by all in the local community, Albert will be sorely missed.
