John Reynolds

The following information has been extracted from Alumni Cantabrigienses and the Clergy of the Church of England Database.

John Reynolds entered St Catharine's College, Cambridge in 1684. He was awarded the degree of B.A. in 1687 and that of M.A. in 1691.

John was instituted Vicar of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Furneaux Pelham, on 5 August 1689, and also appointed Curate of nearby Stocking Pelham on 27 May of the following year. He was instituted Vicar of Stansted Mountfitchet on 9 May 1691, holding that benefice along with that of Furneaux Pelham until his resignation from the latter in 1702.

Whilst still at Stansted, John was collated to the Rectory of Thorley on 27 January 1711. He remained Rector of Thorley and Vicar of Stansted until his death in 1728.
