Emma Day 1906

 

Cambridge Postmark July 18th 1906

Addressed to Mrs. Day, 7 Thorley,
nr Bps Stortford, Herts.
Message — Dear Mother I thought you would
like to know I have seen the stone and it looks
very nice although it is too sad for words to look
at. Love to all. Does Jack know he had better
keep it for this (?)

Letter to Mrs. Emma Day, 7, Pump Yard Cottages,
(or Park View Cottages today) , Thorley Street.
Husband Joseph Day (1901 Agricultural worker)
Three sons — Charles 43, Willie 28 and Thomas 24
Thomas died 9th December 1905 and is buried in
Thorley churchyard.
Either Charles or Willie has been to the
stonemasons to view Thomas’ headstone and is
reporting back to his mother.
